Big Cats in New York
Established in 1875 and located on 23.5 acres, the Buffalo has the
honor of housing the third oldest zoo in the United States. It
features a number of conservation and educational programs, as well as
an adoption program that allows you to adopt big cats.

Noted as the world's largest urban zoo, this big cat location has more than 600
species from round the world on display. There are several exhibits,
including 'Tiger Mountain,' which features Siberian tigers in a habitat
that simulates the Russian Far East.

The Big Cat Exhibit in Central Park is located in the heart of Manhattan. It
houses more than 150 species from around the world. The
newest exhibit, the Allison Maher Stern Snow Leopard Exhibit, features
a habitat similar to the big cats' natural home, complete with a
waterfall.

Americas. It is located on 11 acres inside Flushing Meadows Park.

Located in Syracuse on approximately 43 acres, this big cat site
is home to more than 700 animals. It has several educational programs,
and places an emphasis on conservation participating in a number of
Species Survival Plans (SSP), including Amur Tiger, Ocelot and Snow

Ross Park in Binghamton features species of animals from around the world. It has a program that allows you
to adopt an animal, including Amur Leopard and Cougar, and features a
'Behind the Scenes' program that gives visitors the opportunity to work
with a Binghamton Zoo keeper cleaning and maintaining the cougar and
watching a training session with one of the resident Amur Leopards.

Located in Rochester, Seneca Park features several animal species
from around the globe. It has several big cats in its collection,
and features a cougar exhibit especially designed with a glass viewing
area to allow visitors to see the big cats close up. The exhibit
includes a viewing tunnel, a protected dome that allows visitors to
crawl into the exhibit.

Located on the north shore of Staten Island, the Staten Island wildlife park has
a number of exhibits, and places an emphasis on species conservation
and educational programs. It plans to create an exhibit for its Amur
Leopards which will be 4,500 square feet and three stories high, making
it one of the largest leopard exhibits in the nation.
