Big Cats in Minnesota

Established in 1923, this Big Cat site is located in Fairmont Park in West Duluth on over 16 acres of natural woodlands. Exhibits include African Caravan -- which features two of the most endangered big cats on earth -- and African Savanna, which features lions.

This wildlife enclosure cares for at least 504 different species of animals. It places a great focus on conversation efforts, particularly the Sumatran Tiger. The Tiger Information Center was established and made available to the public in 1995, providing an international forum for exchanging information relevant to the preservation of wild tigers.

Wildlife Science Center is located in Columbus. It was founded as a research facility in 1976 with the purpose of observing and documenting the physiology and behavior of a captive population of gray wolves. It has since expanded to include other native wild animals, including species of big cats native to the state.
