Big Cats in Michigan




Located outside of Battle Creek, Michigan on 433 acres of forests and wetlands, Binder Park is home to approximately 600 animals with over 140 species. With over 50 animal exhibits, it also features a number of educational programs and is involved in many conservation efforts, including the International Snow Leopard Trust.

Located in Royal Oak on 125 acres, this Big Cat spot features naturalistic habitats that house over 1,500 animals of 260 species. It has several major exhibits, including Asian Forest, which features Amur Tigers.

GarLyn is privately owned and family-run, located on Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It is home to native North American animals as well as exotic animals from around the world representing six continents.

Located in Grand Rapids, John Ball houses an animal collection featuring 237 species and 1,183 specimens. It participates in Species Survival Plans for several animals, including Snow Leopards and Clouded Leopards.

Located in Lansing, Potter Park will be 100 years old in 2020. It is situated on over 20 acres and features more than 500 animals representing approximately 160 species. Potter Park is committed endangered animal preservation and participates in the Species Survival Plan.
