Big Cats in Hawaii




Founded in 1969, the Honolulu Zoological Society has the most big cats within a radius of 2,300 miles. It is the only zoo in the United States originating from a King's grant of royal lands to the people, according to the its website, and features many activities, such as Twilight Tours and Birthday Parties.

The only tropical rainforest zoo in the United States, Pana'ewa is home to Namaste, a male white Bengal tiger with ancestors in Central Africa. Featured is a "Tiger Feeding" event daily at 3:30PM.
