Big Cat, Lions and Tigers and (not so much with the bears) Oh my!
Bigcat.com is a site designed to serve all things big cat. From the large furry mammals to popular sports
teams and celebrities.
Our goal is to write article commentary, provide a source of knowledge, give updated news, and of course
a nice photo library. Our fondest hope is that students k-12
will find the information useful when writing reports or learning about the topics
presented. Most reports require multiple sources so just going to wikipedia
still leaves some work to be done. Children K-12 are encouraged to use our images and information
for reports being presented as classwork. One of our photographers is also a K-1
teacher.
Most recently we have taken to photography and have many great big cat photographs of panther, lion, tiger, leopard and others
from zoos all over the United States. Some of them are here on the site. As time goes on we plan to post many more.
Our affinity with the big cat goes back to our childhoods. So much so that when we built
our first major
business venture, we named it Big Cat Systems.
This was a computer software company located in Ann Arbor, MI.
The offices were in theme, with products and servers having names like Lynx and Panther Premium. Even the
furniture was redone in leopard print upholstery.
If you have a great photo of a big cat that you have taken, send it on and we will post it here with a by line
(can even be a link to your page!) We do not guarantee posting, but if it is a good shot, we will likely put it
up for everyone to see!
