Bigcat.com is a site designed to serve all things big cat.
We have recently added
to the site!
Our goal is to write big cat article commentary, provide a source of knowledge, give updated news, and of course a nice photo library. Our fondest hope is that students k-12 will find the information useful when writing reports about big cats or learning about the topics presented. Most reports require multiple sources so just going to wikipedia still leaves some work to be done.
Children K-12 are encouraged to use big cat site for reports being presented as classwork. One of our photographers is also a K-1 teacher. Occasionally we visit zoos to see the big cats and take pictures. We write reviews of those zoos and post seperate pages on the site.
The site is changing! Our focus is moving toward educational multimedia presentations
for K1 teachers and home school parents to use. The bigcat information site and bigcat
pictures will remain in their current form but we are also building a forum to discuss
K1 children's science education and create engaging and funny multimedia presentations
for kids. We have several k1 teachers involved in desiging the material as
well as animators and artists. It should be a lot of fun! Please come
read and join the Forum to talk about K1 science education.
